It's a well-known fact that car ownership in Singapore is extremely costly and part of it is attributed to the road tax that every Singapore-registered vehicle must have.

Before you proceed to renew your road tax, you need to fulfil all the pre-requisites. Ensure that you've cleared all parking and traffic fines, passed a vehicle inspection at one of the authorised centres and your vehicle is insured for the full period of the new road tax. You can then check your road tax fee and renew it for 6 or 12 months through one of the following quick and simple methods.

1. AXS Stations

The service is only available from 6am to 12 midnight daily. With 900 stations all around Singapore, you can conveniently renew your road tax by finding the one nearest to you. Remember to check that you've fulfilled all the renewal pre-requisites at least 3 working days in advance.

2. SingPost or Road Tax Collection Centre

Visit any SingPost or road tax collection centres located island-wide to pay your road tax in person. You need to produce original copies of your road tax renewal notice, vehicle inspection certificate, and certificate of insurance (CI) or cover note (CN). If you're driving an off-peak car, you also need to bring along your number plate inspection certificate.

3. GIRO
